Tim Jones: Majority Minute: Proposed Constitutional Amendment Would Protect Hunting, Fishing

On the heels of incredible news last night where we saw the United States of America once again leading the world in seeking out and stamping out destructive terrorist forces no matter where they lurk and in the constant and never wavering pursuit of liberty and freedom, we returned to the Capital City rejuvenated and re-energized as we continue our two week sprint to the end of the Regular Session…congratulations and a mighty thank you to all of our brave men and women who serve this country at home and abroad!

TENTATIVE HOUSE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 2 – MAY 6, 2011

House Joint Resolutions for Perfection

HJR 15, sponsored by Rep. Don Ruzicka (R-132), is scheduled to be perfected this week. This resolution proposes a constitutional amendment stating a two-thirds majority voter approval be required for any initiative petition relating to harvesting bird, fish, game, wildlife, or forestry resources.

House Bills for Perfection

Although it is growing very late in Session and the likelihood of a House Bill making it through the Senate, back to the House and then to the Governor’s desk grows slim, the following bills may still be considered. For more information regarding a specific bill, please visit www.house.mo.gov and enter the bill number in the bill search box on the left hand side of the internet page.

HB 138, HCS HBs 504, 505 & 874, HCS HB 613, HB 658, HCS HB 707, HCS HB 732, HCS HB 893, HB 924 & HCS HB 999

Senate Joint Resolutions for Third Reading

These bills have already been passed by the Senate and are now being considered by the House. Once the House takes action on these legislative items, they will either be “truly agreed and finally passed” and sent to the Governor for consideration if the House makes no changes to the bills OR if the House does make any changes to the bills, the bills will then go back to the Senate for further consideration by the bodies.
